In a picture, Kasab is seen with a bandage on his hands. He also has a handcuff around his left hand but, the handcuffs are left unlocked. This picture is in sharp contrast to earlier ones of Kasab, those of him, holding a gun, defiantly making his way into CST station in Mumbai on November 26.
There is, however, no clear indication about when this picture was taken or where, because the terrorist is not dressed in any prison gear, casually clad in a t-shirt and brown pants.
Sources said that the picture could have been clicked when Kasab was taken to the Mumbai Crime Branch for interrogation.
Along with the fresh pictures of Kasab, there were other photographs of the ammunition that he used in the attack. This ammunition is now in the custody of police and it is this evidence, which will be produced in court to nail the terrorist.
The Maharashtra government has already rubbished reports in the Pakistani media about Kasab's fate saying he is "very much alive".
"Kasab is in Mumbai police custody and very much alive," state home minister Jayant Patil said on January 30.
"If any one doubts whether Kasab is alive or not, those from Pakistan consulate can come and see for themselves that he is alive," he had said.
