Akshay Kumar left his fans stunned as he refused to accept his Nokia Popular Viewers’ Choice Award for his role in Singh is Kinng at the Star Screen Awards on Wednesday night.
He said that having seen Ghajini, he felt Aamir Khan deserved the honour and left the stage sans trophy, dedicating it to Aamir. A few days ago, Aamir had said that when he first saw the Tamil original of Ghajini, he felt Akshay (or Salman) was better suited for that role with his physique.
With budding mutual admiration among the duo, perhaps 2009 will see them in a film together — maybe wooing Aishwarya Rai, who got the same award (Popular Viewers’ Choice) for Jodhaa-Akbar.
