A Jet Airways airhostess jumped to her death from the fifth floor of a building here early Wednesday following an argument with her pilot boyfriend, the police said.
The victim, 22-year-old Anupama Acharya, had gone for a party at the residence of her boyfriend Samir Chaturvedi in the upmarket Powai suburb, an official from Powai police station said.
Following a minor tiff with Chaturvedi, Acharya flew into a rage and jumped out of the fifth floor of Jheel Darshan building. She was rushed to a nearby hospital with multiples injuries but was declared dead on admission, police added.
The police have recorded Chaturvedi's statement and registered a case of suicide while further investigations are on, the official said.
An official of the airline said that Acharya had joined the airline around a year ago. Tuesday was her weekly off-day and she was expected to resume duties Wednesday.
A spokesperson for the airline said that 'we are offering full cooperation to the police in this tragic matter.'
