Sajid Nadiadwala has postponed the release date of his next film Anjaana Anjaani in spite of the release being slated this week. The move has been done keeping in mind the court's decision over the sensitive Babri Masjid controversy. Anjaana Anjaani will now release on October 1 and Aakrosh, initially scheduled for release on October 1, will now be exhibited on October 8. However, the release date of Khichdi–The Movie and Robot remained unchanged.
When contacted, Sajid said, "We had already sent our prints to overseas markets like Australia, America and the UK, but last morning we had a meeting and decided that the least we can do is to change the release date keeping the sentiments in mind. For us, releasing a film is a cause of celebration and we would definitely not like to celebrate on such a day and that's why Anjaana Anjaani will release on October 1 now."
Meanwhile, Kumar Mangat, the producer of Aakrosh, said, "Yes, we have postponed the release by one week. It is not a wise decision for two major films to clash on the same day and so we have decided to release the film on October 8."
However, Vijay Singh of Fox Star Studios, the producers of Khichdi, said, "We are committed to releasing Khichdi on October 1. The tracking research that we are doing shows an extremely positive build-up of awareness and intention to see the film across our core family audiences. The response from the audiences who have seen the film is extremely positive." They should consult Paul.
