Addressing presspersons here, Anand Thakur, Zonal Head, South and West, said the company would invest Rs. 100-150 crore in the next three years to expand capacity. He said in 2007-08, total sales were 75,000 units against 70,000 units in 2006-07. The company concluded tie-ups with two nationalised banks for retail financing, he said and added that negotiations were on with two more banks for a similar tie-up.
He said the new product marked the company’s entry into the 150cc segment and placed between the regular and premium segments in terms of pricing. The motorcycle is priced at Rs. 67,400. The Chennai launch would be followed by Kolkata, Kochi, Bhopal and Chandigarh.
