The Amethi MP created a flutter by strolling into a well-known Hazaratganj eatery during the busy lunch hour on Wednesday. The birthday girl made most of the opportunity by sending in her request through his formidable looking bodyguards. "He readily agreed ...imagine being wished a happy birthday by Rahul Gandhi," raved Saumya.
Rahul Khanna, the owner of the chain, admits to a high-voltage jolt when the reception clerk crashed into his cabin to announce, "Rahul Gandhi counter pe khade hain." Khanna escorted the MP to his table on first floor, deputed his smartest waiter to attend on him, and kept his fingers crossed for the next 45 minutes. "Rahulji proved to be an exemplary client... very courteous and correct," Khanna said.
Declining his offer of a voluntary waiver, the young leader insisted upon paying for his meal and dished out Rs 750. "I am an MP and therefore must not set a wrong precedence," he told Khanna.
